WARP Iceland

Rethink landscape photography on NORDphotography's workshop in Iceland for 2018. Develop an engaging body of work through the exploration of new concepts, and through the expansion of your unique visual language.
Workshopen vil foregå på engelsk:

Multimedia artist and photographer Jonathan Laurence will challenge your perception of landscape photography while expanding your ability to communicate through visual language. You will learn to develop new ways of seeing, perceiving, and depicting the visual world not only through your camera lens but also through your use of treatments and effects in post production.

The challenge for any photographer is creating something new - something that represents not only a personal artistic vision but is also a reflection of the surrounding landscape. In our workshop with Jonathan Laurence in Iceland, you will focus on creating multilayered images, art pieces, and portfolios. In addition to capturing Iceland through your camera lens, you will be challenged to create your own interpretation of the scenery through the use of creative apps and different ways of presenting work.

This workshop includes curated excursions, daily discussions, lectures and post-production lab. You will also have time to go out on your own and explore sites of interest. You’ll be free to work with any camera. For our postproduction lab, we will focus on the different creative apps available via tablets and smartphone. However, you are free to work with any post production program you like, but for the turn around time for this workshop we do suggest using apps, because it gives you a quicker way to a finished result. We will also spent time on different way of presenting work, as single images, as a portfolio, covering the usage of collages, movement/ video, music, text etc.

Over the duration of this course, students will learn new ways to represent landscapes through photography as a visual medium. Students will create a portfolio of images that showcase personal explorations of contemporary concepts and interpretations of landscape photography.
