This is a workshop suited for photographers who want to learn theatre photography, with a focus on classical ballet. This workshop is also open for photographers inspired by ballet, costumes, and movement, who are looking to expand their portfolio and create new and exciting work. Or photographers looking for new inspiration and challenges, to create captivating stories, using the energy and activity that happens behind the scenes on big productions. During the workshop you will also learn to create poster for ballet/ theatre performances, using one of your images.

We will shoot in exclusive locations in St Petersburg and in the rehearsal studios with acclaimed performers from the esteemed St Petersburg State Ballet Theatre. We will also be given the unique opportunity to photograph back-stage at the famous Hermitage Theatre during a LIVE performance. The theatre is part of the Hermitage Museum, one of the largest and oldest art museums in the world. The Hermitage Theatre was built between 1783 and 1787 at the behest of Empress Catherine the Great - read more about its history here.

Participants will have access to the back stage and wings of the scene, the gallery, and from the audience side. Photographing back stage at The Hermitage Theatre during a live performance by the Russian Ballet Theatre, is a once in a lifetime experience.
